Connecting children to Jesus

"Let the children come to Me."  Mark 10:14

our philosophy

As a Pasifika Centre we celebrate and value our rich language, heritage and culture. We also believe the Bible guides us in the best way to live.  Because of this, we strongly integrate Biblical values, stories and experiences into the Te Whaariki early childhood curriculum. As part of their daily programme your child will be encouraged to:

  • Embrace and share their unique cultural identity

  • Explore the richness of Biblical stories and values

  • Experience prayer and connection with Jesus

  • Sing, dance and praise through participation in Christian songs, rhyme and drama

  • Show love and concern for others

It is an honour to be co-workers with you in their education and care.

our values & dispositions

Aroha/Love: We are committed to providing a loving environment where children feel safe and that their wellbeing is nurtured. The tamariki are learning about Gods love for them through active lead learning experiences, whanaungatanga (relationships) where the unconditional love of Jesus is modeled, learning through manaakitanga (hospitality) and nature.

Whakapono/Faith: We believe that children are a unique gift from God with so much to offer, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, and that connecting children to Jesus is extremely important. We believe that through faith and learning about Jesus, the tamariki build a solid foundation to become competent, curious and confident learners knowing that Jesus is by their side, thus nurturing a solid Christian foundation.

Whanau/Family: We strongly believe that our tamariki and their whanau all bring knowledge from their cultures, values and aspirations. We want to foster a working partnership collaboratively together, bringing this into our curriculum, through active participation. We are all children of God, part of one big family and we want to celebrate this in our learning environment with our wider whanau and community.
